Freedom First: Reflections on Passover and the Coming Spring
Greetings to my Jewish friends,
In a world that often feels divided, I find myself looking toward the calendar this week for a bit of grounding.
We are currently in the heart of Passover, a time that celebrates the hard-won journey from slavery to freedom. For my Jewish friends, these days are filled with the weight of memory and the joy of family.
For those of us in the Christian tradition, we know that these celebrations of freedom are the very foundation upon which our own Holy Week and Easter are built. There is something deeply moving about the fact that the ‘festival of bread’ comes first—reminding us of the roots we share.
I created this short video to send a message of friendship and peace. As we approach the weekend, I wish my Jewish connections a meaningful conclusion to the holiday.
Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach.
I pray for G-d's compassion and mercy to be upon us all.
