I'm not even sure where to start. I was just a high school, or a junior high school student when I learned about Anna PolitkovskayaAnna. I used to wake up at 5 am and watched news around the world. Russian TV hasn't had freedom even those days. I was mesmerized by what she spoke in the interviews. She was from Russia and she spoke under "free" spirit, which was very exceptional to me. It was very strange to me but it was very clear for me to understand what she wanted to say.

Anna Politkovskayaanna was born in New York City in 1958. Her parents' birthplace is uncertain. Some claim that her father was born in Ukraine, and her mother is Russian. Anna Politkovskayaannas' parents were both Soviet diplomats. According to her interviews, she was fluent in English even though she was educated most of her childhood in Moscow, Russia. She graduated from Moscow State University with a major in journalism.
